Plugins Boss beta terms

Version 1 · Effective October 25, 2026 · Applies to Plugins Boss beta releases, starting with 0.9.0-beta.1.

These terms cover the free beta of Plugins Boss: every release whose version number contains “beta”. Commercial versions will come with their own license agreement, published here before they go on sale.

1. What you may do

Musik-Matters LLC (“we”) grants you a free, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to install and use beta versions of Plugins Boss on computers you own or control, for personal or professional music work.

2. What you may not do

  • Sell, rent or redistribute the beta, or host the installer elsewhere.
  • Reverse-engineer, decompile or modify it, except where the law allows this despite these terms.
  • Remove copyright or other notices.

Please share the link to this website rather than the installer, so others get the current, verified version.

3. It’s a beta

The beta is still in development. It may contain bugs and may change without notice. Beta versions have no scheduled expiration: an installed beta keeps working. But a beta version may stop receiving updates, compatibility fixes or support at any time, in particular once a final version is released, and we may stop offering beta downloads.

4. No payment obligations

Using the beta doesn’t enroll you in any paid service or subscription, and it creates no obligation to pay anything, now or later. Buying a commercial version, if you ever choose to, will be a separate purchase under its own terms.

5. Your plugins and files

Scanning only reads files. Plugins Boss changes files only when you tell it to quarantine or restore them. Please read this before you quarantine anything:

  • Quarantine moves the files you select out of your DAWs’ plugin folders into your quarantine folder. Nothing is deleted.
  • While a plugin is quarantined, your DAWs can’t load it. Projects that use it may open with that plugin missing until you restore it.
  • Restore puts files back where they came from. It works as long as the quarantined files and their batch’s manifest.json are still in the quarantine folder, and the original location is free and writable. It can’t succeed if, for example, the quarantine folder was deleted or moved, a manifest is damaged, another copy has since been installed in the original place, or Windows permissions block the move. So restore is not an unconditional guarantee.
  • You are responsible for choosing what to quarantine. Keep backups of your plugins (or their installers) and your projects.

6. Privacy

See the privacy policy. In short: Plugins Boss keeps your plugin list, settings, scan results and quarantine history on your computer and never uploads them. Its only internet use is checking for newer versions of itself and of your manager apps, and each check can be turned off.

7. Feedback

If you send us feedback or suggestions, we may use them to improve our products without any obligation to you.

8. Third-party software

Plugin, DAW and vendor names belong to their owners. Plugins Boss is not affiliated with or endorsed by them. Vendor manager apps you open from Plugins Boss are governed by their own terms. Plugins Boss includes open-source and other third-party components under their own licenses, which these terms don’t change. See the third-party notices.

9. No warranty

To the extent permitted by law, the beta is provided “as is” and “as available”, without warranties of any kind, express or implied, including merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.

10. Limitation of liability

To the extent permitted by law, Musik-Matters LLC is not liable for any indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for loss of data, plugins, projects or profits, arising from use of the beta.

11. Your legal rights

Nothing in these terms excludes or limits any rights you have under laws that can’t be excluded or limited by agreement, including consumer protection laws where you live.

12. Changes to these terms

If we change these terms, we’ll publish a new version here with a new version number and effective date. A new version applies to beta releases published on or after its effective date. It isn’t applied retroactively: a beta release you already downloaded stays under the version of these terms in effect when it was published. Earlier versions are kept on record and are available on request.
