How Musik-Matters LLC handles information on this website and in Plugins Boss. Effective October 25, 2026.
Plugins Boss (the desktop app)
Plugins Boss runs on your computer and keeps its data there.
- Your plugin inventory, DAW settings, scan results and quarantine history are stored in
%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plugins Bossand in the quarantine folder you choose. They are never uploaded. - There is no account, no telemetry, no analytics and no advertising.
- It never asks for, reads or stores your logins for vendor apps.
- It makes two kinds of update checks. Both are plain downloads of a public file, and neither sends any information about your plugins or your computer’s contents:
- Plugins Boss updates: when it starts and when you scan, it reads a small public file from GitHub that names the newest Plugins Boss version. GitHub sees your IP address and the Plugins Boss version you’re running. Turn it off with
"check_app_updates": false. - Manager app updates: during a scan, for manager apps you have installed (such as Waves Central or Native Access), it downloads that app’s public update feed from the address the app itself uses for its updates. That server sees your IP address and that the request comes from Plugins Boss. Turn it off with
"check_manager_updates": false.
config.jsonin%LOCALAPPDATA%\Plugins Boss. With either one off, that check makes no network request at all. - Plugins Boss updates: when it starts and when you scan, it reads a small public file from GitHub that names the newest Plugins Boss version. GitHub sees your IP address and the Plugins Boss version you’re running. Turn it off with
- Logs and file lists stay on your computer unless you choose to send them to us, for example with a bug report.
- Vendor apps you open from Plugins Boss are separate programs with their own privacy policies.
